The brainchild of Ian Lape-Gerwe

funkyILG has been created out a love for perfect design, the art of repetition, and eco-friendly upcycling. My works combine many of my previous experiences. I graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a degree in Visual Communication Design in the spring of 2020. After college I shelved my art career in pursuit of quick money in the Cincinnati restaurant scene. In 2025, eager to create art that reflects my design experiences I have unveiled many new linocut works. Creating many editions with just a few print blocks, embracing the negative and positive spaces around us.

I have also returned to my hippy grateful dead loving tie dyed self. I have revisited my love for tie dying and combined my linocut printing with ice dye. Creating one of one colorful creations on upcycled pieces.
